With so many voiceover podcasts out there, what are the best ones to listen to?

It was one year ago this month that I decided to go all in with voiceover.
Throughout most of my 20-year career in radio, I maintained a pretty steady side hustle of voiceover work. I had a handful of clients that would give me regular work. It amounted to a small amount of cash flow each month, to supplement my main gig. But because most of my waking hours were dedicated to radio, I never had the time to seek out new voiceover business.
I knew that if I were to get serious about my voiceover business, generating new business on a regular basis would be imperative. So, I had to educate myself.
One of the Best Ways to Learn about Voiceover
Over the past year, I probably listened to hundreds of hours of voiceover podcasts. I soaked up every little nugget of information like a sponge…taking notes, and applying the concepts to my business along the way.
I should say that not all of the voiceover podcasts out there contain the most useful information. Afterall…nowadays, practically anyone can do a podcast. But it’s easy for you to tell fairly quickly which are the ones that are worth your time.
So without further ado, here’s my list of the best voiceover podcasts out today:
Everyday VOpreneur with Marc Scott
This was one of the first voiceover podcasts I found, and probably the one that I’ve spent the most time listening to. Your marketing plan is crucial to the success of your voiceover business. So learning as much as you can about the business side of things is incredibly important. As host of this podcast, Marc Scott is a straight shooter…giving plenty of marketing advice in each episode, that you can apply to your business.
A VO’s Journey with Anthony Pica
Another podcast that I stumbled upon early on, and one of my favorites. Anthony has a big personality, and is a very likable dude. There’s lots of great advice on all aspects of the business packed into this podcast series, especially for newer talent just getting started in the business.
Hosted by one of the industry’s best, Anne Ganguzza, VOBoss is another binge worthy podcast, most definitely deserving of a spot on this list.
The VoiceOver Hustle with Steve O’Brien
I haven’t heard as many episodes of this podcast, but definitely worth a mention here. Steve has had some great guests on the show, with helpful advice for voice actors at any stage in their career.
I’m not sure how I missed this one in my initial search for voiceover podcasts, but I just discovered it recently. If you really want to geek out over home studio tech, this is definitely the podcast for you.
BONUS: The Bill DeWees YouTube channel
Technically not a podcast, but definitely worth a mention here. Bill has posted hundreds of videos on his YouTube channel, and there’s some great content on here.
